Consequences Sign up Plan
We will be opening sign ups for games for Consequences on the 10th
August this year at 19.00 when you will be able to sign up for one
game, until the following MONDAY 19.00 when you will be able to sign
up for a second game i.e. the 18th August and then for as many games
as you would like from the 26th August which is TUESDAY after the
We think this is the fairest way, and have tried to take account of
people's feedback from last year, about doing everything on a Sunday.
I know that some people will be at Gencon US during the second week,
and if those people would like to get in touch and let us know what
games you need to sign up for we will do everything we can to get you
into those games. This is also the case for anyone who is on holiday
I hope that this works for the majority of people, I think we all know
that there is no good time to open sign ups because someone will be
inconvenienced, however we will do our level best to help so long as
you get in touch.
Can I remind you that you need to be signed up for the convention and
have paid in order to sign up for games.
We've still got some games to put in the schedule but you can see the
majority of the programme is now up at www.consequences.org.uk

Slots for next year
Thinking about timings for next year.
In theory people can bid games which are any length, including a full weekend, in practise I think most games (talking LARP here) are 2-4 hours.
One of the main points on this year's 'Things to learn for next year' is that I don't have to be doing things at 0800, because at the other end of the day I will fall over. I am not the only one.
To this end we are thinking about slots for next year.
I have some suggestions
10.00 until 13.00 or 13.30.
14.00 or 14.30 to 18.00
Would people prefer a shorter slot in the morning or the afternoon?
19.30 to 23.30
This would give a 90 minute dinner break, rather than the 2 hours we gave this time, is that long enough? I am absolutely committed to having more than an hour, which is not long enough IMHO. The 23.30 stopping time would allow time to clear up before they throw us out, and a bit more slack.
I am also thinking about whether to close the traders at 19.30 when the evening game starts.
Space plan BTW is that we will use the Solent room for LARPs and screen off the traders, and that we will not use the lower bar after lunch.

Preliminary Accounts and suggested charging scheme for 2008
Well it's been a fun afternoon going through the accounts, and trying to work out how much money we spent.
We seem to have made quite a bit of profit, after doing the GM refunds which have gone off for countersigning Smile Certainly we have in excess of £1000.
We'll pull in the last costs and see if we forgot anything, but it looks like we'll be able to cover next year's deposit, give about £1000 to charity, including the proceeds from the random cake generator, and the raffle, pay the food bill for next year's Peaky (£150 or so) and still have some money left over to purchase some collapsible screening, which we can use for lots of games.
So the suggestion for next year's pricing which you can now cogitate over.
1) Full price ticket at £20 if you signed up at Amazing, £25 from now until April, rising to £30 and £35. Lodge prices will be pretty much the same as this year, we're waiting for Naish to confirm how much they are charging us. This allows you access to all LARPs, tabletop etc etc. Every LARP will get up to 3 GMs comped, (i.e if you only have 2 GMs you only get 2 comps)
There will be an allowance for provable game expenses of up to £1 per player, for LARPs.
2) Tabletop games will be £3 per game, tickets will be on sale on the desk.
All tabletop GMs get in free to run a game, if you run a game, then you can have a free ticket to play in someone else's game? Thoughts?
3) We'd like to suggest an introductory LARP ticket (one per new player) at £3 each subject to availability, to encourage people to try a game, bookable either in advance or for games with spaces on the day.
4) Traders at the same as this year i.e £50 worth of stock into the Raffle for which they get 2 free passes to the con.
5) To book a lodge, then at least one person must be registered on the website, and have paid a full price ticket.

The really important bits are to remember a £5 cash deposit for each key, (2 per chalet) there are no towels or soap so remember to bring them, and bring a torch for walking round in the dark.

Okay, so I'm trying to book our travel within England. We need to get from Heathrow down to Naish. Right now it looks like it is going to cost around $132 for the two of us to take a train down from Heathrow - that is one way. I don't have an exact amount yet because I don't know which train station is closest - I'm waiting to hear from the resort on that. That combined with our other plans will mean spending almost $300 on rail travel - not ideal for us at this point in time. So we are open to alternative means such as bus travel but I don't know what companies to look for to find out what is the best to take. Money is going to be tight for the trip so we are trying to pinch pennies where we can so any advice would be most welcome. Also tafkad
is traveling with us as well so in truth there are three of us to get around, but he is paying for his own. Help!

Note that nothing is to be fixed to any painted surface. Wood and glass are fine however.
The site is comfortable with any pretend weapon (ARH suggests we make this any obvious fake weapon!)
The site would like confirmation of which chalets we are/are not going to use, two weeks before.

Huh - what's this Consequences malarky then?
This is a weekend long LARP convention running at Naish Holiday Village in Christchurch in Dorset the weekend of November 16th to 18th 2007. We will primarily be running LARPs there but there will be a side order of tabletop for them who like their gaming sitting down.
We are opening the website NOW so that you can all bid games that you want to run, and for people to sign up for the convention, so that we can start allocating accomodation, and plotting how many tracks of games we can run etc.
We will end the first round of bids on March 15th, and we will make decisions by the 19th, but you can bid them now - today - do not feel you must wait until March 15th!
